Mt High Just Opened!
Mt. High has just opened its slopes. $25 for an all day lift ticket. They’re very desperate after a no snow Thanksgiving vacation. They threw down a whopping 6-10″ over the past three days for your enjoyment.

CO Teases So Cal
Shaun White brings us word that a hidden resort in Colorado has had a speedy dump of over 35″ of snow in just 48 hours. The clouds are falling up there! Thanks Mr. White.
Hopes were high as Mt.High announced that snow making was taking place late at night November 9th through 10th 2008. Transworld predicted that the snow season may start within a few days for Southern California. Oh were they sadly mistaken. The weather forecasts showed a major fall heat wave to arrive during the second half of the week, meaning weather in the 70’s up in the mountains. Lesson of the day? Don’t blow your snow making load before you check all of the forecasts. I’m sure they still have plenty of water though.

Boomer Hodel, 14, has taught his rat how to ride tubes on the north shore of Oahu, Hawii. Boomer gently pushes his rat Grommet onto the wave with the goal of making it in and then out of a tube. I don’t know if this is considered cruelty to animals, but it is most definetely awesome! Click Here for the full article.
Apparently Boomer isn’t the first to coax his rat into riding the surf as seen in this footage of rats and mice hanging 10. Does anyone know the name and artist of the song in this video?!

This morning the temperatures dipped into the low teens allowing Mt. High’s snow-making crews to run the snowmakers for the first time this year.
Mountain High has recently installed 25 new top-of-the-line Ratnik snowmaking nozzles that utilize a patent-pending design. This means up to 40% more snowmaking capacity, increased efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, and energy savings. The bottom line: Mountain High can now make more snow using less energy, which is better for the environment – hands down.
